Guidelines for filling in Online Application form for
Admissions to
Ph.D(Spring semester, 2024)
Programmes at Tezpur University for the Academic Session
2024-25
- Note:
Candidates qualified in the UGC NET-JRF/ UGC-CSIR NET-JRF, UGC/CSIR NET (LS)/ SLET (LS), GATE and M.Phil degree holders need not appear in the written test; however, such candidates shall appear in the personal interview.
Online applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission to various programmes of study for the academic year 2023-24. Interested and eligible candidates may APPLY ONLINE through the Tezpur University admissions portal at www.tezuadmissions.in by paying application cum counselling fee as specified in the following table:

Applicants are advised to read the instructions carefully before filling in the online Application Form. The following major points are to be noted at the time of filling in the Application Form:
- Application Fee
The payment of the fee is to be made ONLINE using credit card/debit card/net-banking options only. The transaction details may be printed and preserved for later reference. It is to be noted that the submission of the Application Form will remain treated as incomplete until the required Application cum counseling Fee is transferred successfully.
1. Programmes and Admission Process:
An applicant may apply for a maximum of One (01) programme, subject to fulfillment of eligibility criteria, by paying a single application cum counselling fee. Candidates applying for multiple programmes must specify their preferences of the programmes carefully while filling in the application form.
2. Candidates yet to obtain the last qualifying Degree/Diploma/Certificate:
Candidates who have already completed/appeared their qualifying Degree / Diploma/ Certificate examinations or expected to complete the qualifying examinations with all the components, including practical, viva-voce (if any), and courses of earlier semesters may also apply.
Documents To Be Uploaded:
A passport size photograph.
- Scanned copy of the signature.
- All academic transcripts (Certificates & marksheets).
- Copy of the relevant category certificate issued by the competent authority, if
seeking admission under any reserved category.
- Copy of the Sponsorship/No Objection Certificate (NOC) issued by the employer,
if the candidate is employed.
- Separate undertakings for category and appearing qualifying examination.
- A certificate issued by Defence authority that the candidate is the widow/
ward/wife of the Defence personnel as per the Priority set by the Govt of India.
- Relevant certificate(s) as evidence of winning medal(s) in National or
International sporting event(s), if any.
STEPS TO COMPLETE THE ONLINE APPLICATION FORM
Step A: Register using the "Sign Up" process. The email ID and mobile number used for registration must be valid and functional and should belong to the applicant. Communications will be done only to the registered email address or mobile number.
Step B: Click "Apply Now" in your dashboard to proceed with the application form fill-up process.
Step C: Select an admission criterion and select programme(s) under that criterion.
Note: If you are applying for more than one programme under a selected admission criterion, YOU HAVE TO SELECT THE PREFERENCE Numbers as 1, 2, and 3 etc. depending upon your preference among the programmes.
Check "I have read the Prospectus" and click next

- UG Programmes:
Enter qualification details. Candidates must enter semester wise marks by adding new row (Click ADD NEW button) for the qualifying / pre-qualifying examination or for the result awaited.
-PhD Programmes:
Enter qualification details (up to PG level). Candidates have to enter semester wise marks by adding new row (Click ADD NEW button) for the qualifying / pre-qualifying examination or for result awaited.
Step 4 - Upload the following (against Document1, Document2 etc.), accept declaration and submit
a. Undertaking for Category/ Caste Certificate (for all programmes)
b. Undertaking for (Passed/Appeared) (for all programmes)
c. Passport Size Photo
d. Scanned copy of Signature
e. Category Certificate (If applicable)
f. Additional Documents (if applicable)
g. GATE/NET/SLET etc. Score card (If applicable)
Step E: Click “Payment and Final Submission”, pay the prescribed fee for online registration using the online payment gateway.
Step F: Take a printout of the information submitted. This printout will be required along with the other original documents at the time of admission.
Step G: Please keep the following documents (as mentioned under heading MANDATORY DOCUMENTS) handy for online submission before filling up the application form. Scan and store the following documents as separate files as they will need to be uploaded as required during the ‘Online Application’ process.
MANDATORY DOCUMENTS:
- Passport size photo (PNG/JPEG/JPG) (height: 250 | Width: 200 Pixels) (250 KB)
- Scanned Signature (PNG/JPEG/JPG) (height: 150 | Width: 200 Pixels) (50 KB)
- All academic transcripts (Certificates & marksheets).

Please ensure that the above scanned documents are self-attested, legible, and readable. It must be the sole responsibility of the Applicants to upload all mandatory documents. Applications submitted without any of the mandatory documents /with illegible documents will be summarily rejected.
